Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone, or officially the Republic of Sierra Leone, is a country in West Africa. The Portuguese gave the country this name which means mountains with lions or a range of moıuntains with lions, due to the high number of lions in the region. There is Guinea to the northeast, Liberia to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. It has a tropical climate.

Sierra Leone covers an area of 71.740 km2 and has a population of 6.296.803.

Its official language is English.
