CAPE VERDE
The Cape Verde Islands is an African country located offshore Senegal and Mauritania in the Atlantic Ocean. It is an archipelago consisting of 10 islands and 8 islets. The largest three islands are Santiago, Santo Antao, Boa Vista. Its capital is Praia on the island of Santiago. The big islands are 50-60 km long. The Cape Verde Islands being an island state in the Atlantic Ocean, which was included in West Africa, is located offshore Senegal, 570 km west of the main continent of Africa.
The population of the island is estimated at 429.000.
Its official language is Portuguese.
